Habilis Supply Co. began with a simple idea: the places we spend time in have a way of following us home. A trail, a stretch of highway, a river, a town at the edge of a national park—over time, these places become part of how we remember where we've been and why we want to go back.
We make illustrated outdoor apparel and goods around that connection. The designs aren't meant to be souvenirs in the usual sense. They're reminders of places worth knowing, trips worth taking, and experiences that remain meaningful long after you've returned home. Habilis is made for that space between the trip itself and everyday life.
01 / THE IDEA
Drawn from the places themselves.
Every Habilis design begins with research, drawing, and a sense of place. Our influences range from old park maps and roadside signs to field guides, archival graphics, natural history, and the visual language of American outdoor culture. Those references are starting points rather than templates; the goal is to make something that feels connected to a place without simply reproducing its familiar imagery.
The artwork is developed in-house, then carried across T-shirts, hats, bandanas, stickers, and other goods chosen for everyday use. Many of our shirts are made in the United States and printed in Los Angeles. We favor comfortable materials, straightforward construction, and objects that become better when they're worn, used, packed, washed, and taken somewhere again.
02 / THE WORK
The place comes first.
Yosemite and the Eastern Sierra. Big Sur and the California coast. Joshua Tree, the canyon country of southern Utah, Yellowstone, the Tetons, Big Bend, and the landscapes between them. Habilis has grown around places we've traveled through, returned to, researched, and wanted to understand more closely.
That same curiosity now extends beyond the products. Field Notes is where we document these landscapes through national park guides, road trips, outdoor history, conservation, and stories about the communities and culture surrounding public lands. Sometimes an article grows out of a design; sometimes the research for a place eventually finds its way onto a shirt. Both are different ways of paying attention.
03 / THE PLACES
Independent by design.
Habilis Supply Co. is an independent outdoor brand based in Los Angeles, California. The company grew out of more than two decades of work in graphic design and creative direction, along with a much longer habit of getting outside whenever possible. It remains intentionally small: the artwork, products, photography, writing, and larger direction of the brand are developed with a close connection to the places behind them.
You'll find Habilis online and at independent shops, outfitters, and destinations across the West and beyond. Whether something leaves here in a shipping box or is picked up along Highway 395, outside Big Bend, or near the entrance to a national park, the hope is the same: that it becomes associated with somewhere you've been—or somewhere you're headed next.
